About me

My name is Myron Benally, and I am a Diné (Navajo) educator from Thoreau, New Mexico, rooted in the Four Corners region. My background and identity shape who I am as both a person and a future teacher. I carry with me the values of community, respect, and resilience that come from my family and culture, and I strive to reflect those values in everything I do.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and am currently pursuing my master’s degree in education as I work toward becoming a licensed teacher. My academic journey, along with my student teaching experience, has helped me develop skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and creating meaningful learning experiences for diverse learners. I am especially interested in creating inclusive classroom environments where all students feel supported, challenged, and valued.

My experiences both on and off the reservation have given me a unique perspective on education. I have seen firsthand how access to resources and opportunities can shape student success. Because of this, I am committed to being an educator who helps bridge those gaps by providing engaging instruction, building strong relationships, and supporting students in reaching their full potential.

Beyond the classroom, I value creativity, connection, and personal growth. My background in design influences how I approach teaching—I enjoy creating engaging materials and making learning meaningful and relevant. I believe strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families are the foundation of a positive learning environment.

As an educator, my goal is to create a classroom where students feel a sense of belonging and confidence in who they are. I want my students to succeed academically while also growing as individuals who are proud of their identity and prepared for their future.
